Empat wakil rakyat DAP Perak, mendermakan gaji mereka bagi memberi sumbangan kepada kerajaan bagi membantu membayar hutang negara yang mencecah RM1 trilion.

IPOH, May 26 ― Teluk Intan Member of Parliament Nga Kor Ming will donate his first month's salary of RM16,000 to the Finance Ministry in order to help pay the massive national debt left by the Barisan Nasional administration.

“Few days ago, the nation was left in shock after the Finance Ministry released a statement on the national debt which has reached RM1.08 trillion.

“The new Pakatan Harapan government inherit a heavy burden to settle this debt. So, as my part in helping the country, I'm donating my first month salary as a sign of solidarity and patriotism,” he told reporters at the DAP headquarters here.

“To settle this amount of money would not be easy as every single citizen, including the new born babies and people with disabilities need to bear a cost of RM32,000.

“This is due to the money laundering and poor administration of the previous government,” he said.

Nga said he decided to donate his salary as he is confident that the new government will use the money for a good purpose.

Nga was not the only one to donate the money to the Finance Ministry, as Batu Gajah and Ipoh Timur Member of Parliament V. Sivakumar and Wong Kah Woh respectively, had also pledged to donate half of their first month's salaries of RM8,000 to the Finance Ministry.
